1) Engraving Fabric But The Laser Burns Through The Material

To avoid such circumstances from occurring firsthand, one has to ensure that they truly understand the fabric they are working on and what temperature can the fabric withstand. Some fabrics can easily sustain high power such as canvas, denim, or leather but the delicate fabrics would probably suffer. It is always advisable to test your setting at a small piece and continue when you get the desired results.


2) Acrylic Doesn’t Produce A Frosty White Engraving

This mainly happens because of the wrong acrylic in the application. Two different acrylics are used for different applications while laser engraving. Liquid acrylic is used to make objects and sheets of cast acrylic where the liquid is poured into different molds as per the requirement of shape and size. It is much preferred because it turns frosty white when engraved, the other one of extruded acrylic which is less expensive than the latter. This is mainly because it is used for high-volume manufacturing techniques. This technique gives more clarity to the product but fails to give a frosty white finish.



3) Inconsistent Glass Engraving

It is usually seen that the laser engraving fractures the surface of the glass and does not provide the deep engraving required. If you wish to have a smoother surface with a white frost finish then using a lower resolution of around 300 DPI is preferred. The black graphic should be about 80 percent and use Jarvis dithering for a smooth finish.


4) Wood Engraving Produces A Different Result In The Same Setting

Wood is probably the best material for laser engraving. The cutting process on the wood becomes a lot easier and engraving is more precise on the wooden surface. Cherry or maple wood is the lighter version of wood which are perfect for engraving but if you are using a dense wood then it might require more laser power to cut.


5) The Laser Engraver Doesn’t Perform As Fast Anymore
